Frequently Asked Questions

A bike.

Where are the lessons, courses & rides?

Bolton, Greater Manchester

When are the lessons, courses & rides?

After school, Weekends, School holidays & Half terms.

How many lessons are needed to Learn to Ride?

I can usually get most trainees riding within the hour, but sometimes more lessons are needed depending on previous experience & medical condition. Once riding, booking a Bike Skills lesson is good for the trainee to build up more confidence & control on their bike.

What happens if after a Learn to Ride lesson the trainee is still finding it hard?

This can happen when they have not had much previous experience on a balance bike or a bike with stabilisers. I recommend they spend more time practising on these so they are more prepared. If you have booked 2 lessons, you can postpone the following lesson for upto 3 months.

How do I book & how do I pay?

Go to the Book page on this website, then select a Date/time & the Lesson, course or ride you would like and complete checkout with an online payment.

Does my child need their own bike & helmet?

A bike & helmet can be borrowed. If they have their own bike, bring it along if you can and I will check it over and make any adjustments to suit.

What shall they/ I wear?

Dress appropriate for the weather. Comfy covered up clothes, e.g. sweatshirt & leggings/jogging bottoms, waterproof, grippy shoes & gloves.

What shall we/ I bring?

A drink and a snack.

Is there a toilet?

No, but a supermarket is nearby which has toilets, cafe & cash machine.

Do I stay at the lesson/ course, or go?

For the one to one lessons/ courses, a parent/ guardian must stay. For the Group lessons/ courses, children can be left with me but must be looked after at lunch time by the parent/ guardian.

How do I book another lesson, course or ride?

On the Book page on this website.
